What was their need
The original remit was the development and introduction of a performance
management appraisal system which clearly was not going to produce
the desired results, given the existing negative culture and strength
of feeling.
The Progress Solution
Our facilitator interviewed all 150 members of a company, to identify
the key performance issues, sources of dissatisfaction or de-motivation
and understanding or perception gaps.
We facilitated a series of open communication forums, with all staff
present, reconciled issues and differences of perception whilst
helping create a more collaborative and productive culture and working
environment.
What was the Outcome
Performance improvements were agreed and the psychological environment
changed significantly within two months. Errors, breakages, absence
and sickness went down whilst collaborative problem solving, motivation
and positive communication increased.
The forums were handed over to staff and continue to this day.
Three years later, Investors in People commented that “Many
Blue Chip companies would pay a fortune for a culture like this”.
